I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who graduated with an MA in Professional Counseling from Amberton University in 2012. Since that time, I have continued to study and develop my counseling skills. I have advanced training or certifications in trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, Animal Assisted Therapy (from UNT), Foundational Theraplay Practitioner, Post-adoption counseling, EMDR, Prepare and Enrich pre-marital counseling, Camp Erin (a free grief camp for children who have lost a loved one) and Gottman marriage principles. I proudly serve clients of all ages from 4 years old and over.
For several years, I have served as a contract counselor and group facilitator at ChristianWorks for KidWorks, GriefWorks, AdoptionWorks (post-adoption support groups), and Becoming Mom (counseling for pregnant women or those with children under 3 years of age).
I have a heart for serving children, individuals and families who have been formed through the foster system and/or adoption. I seek to foster stronger attachment, heal past traumas and equip parents with tools to strengthen their families.
God has given me the opportunity to serve many children, adolescents and adults who have been plagued with stress and anxiety. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychoeducation, play therapy, neurobiological tools and other modalities, I equip my clients to manage the stressors in their lives, reduce or eliminate anxiety attacks, and find new purpose in their lives.
As a human resources professional of more than 20 years, I am also uniquely equipped to assist you with career counseling, assessments and career interest inventories.
